How We Can Help
In this legislative world everyone must be compliant to current regulations. Whether you're a home owner, landlord, business owner or engineering manager KNE Ltd can be your partner in electrical compliance.
We’ll give you advice on the latest legislation, how it affects you and your staff or customers. We’ll also plan and deliver a bespoke inspection, testing and maintenance schedule for your premises ensuring you comply with all relevant legal standards. Irregular testing and inspection can invalidate insurance policies.
Call us today to find out how we work with duty holders from all sorts of industries.
We’ll help you to understand how you’re affected, what obligations you have when it comes to electrical safety and which practices to implement to ensure that you remain compliant.
EICR / Fixed Wire Testing
We’ve spent 25 years working with companies of all sizes to make their electrical installations safer. An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) from KNE Ltd will give you the peace of mind to know that your building is electrically safe. More than simply a fact finding mission, an EICR will identify problems, mistakes and uncover wear and tear.
These issues will be classified as to their danger level
- C1 (Danger present. Risk of injury. Immediate remedial action required),
- C2 (Potentially dangerous - urgent remedial action required)
- C3 (Improvement recommended).

Working closely with the duty holder we can then implement a plan of reactive maintenance to make the installation safe.
Standard achieved: BS 7671.
HSE guidelines say: “The best way to find out if your electrical installation is safe is to have it inspected and tested by a person who has the competence to do so.”

PAT Testing
Portable appliance testing (PAT) is the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use.
While not compulsory by law, a regular schedule of recorded PAT testing demonstrates a commitment to safety, satisfies insurance policies and shows that duty holders have considered safe working procedures involving the electrical items within their business.
Standard achieved: BS 7671
HSE guidelines say: “A record and / or labelling can be a useful management tool for monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the maintenance scheme – and to demonstrate that a scheme exists.”
Emergency Lighting Inspection And Maintenance
To test an emergency lighting system, a mains power failure on the normal lighting circuit / circuits or individual luminaries must be simulated. This will force the emergency lighting system to operate via the battery supply.
A test for the full rated duration of the emergency lights (e.g. 3 hours) must be carried out. The emergency lights must still be working at the end of this test. If failures are detected these must be remedied as soon as possible.
KNE Ltd can provide you with a managed schedule of emergency lighting testing and inspection, ensuring your system is ready should you ever need it.

Standard achieved: BS 5266 - 1 (2011).
HSE guidelines say: “Light all escape routes sufficiently for people to use them safely in an emergency. Use an independent power source, eg a generator, in case the mains electricity supply fails.”

Thermal Imaging
Thermographic imaging or hot spot testing is the process of using a special camera designed to look only for heat by way of infrared energy waves.
By detecting issues often invisible to the naked eye, thermal imaging has evolved into one of the most cost effective and valuable diagnostic tools for predictive maintenance.
We use state of the art equipment like thermal imaging cameras to inspect and test in a non invasive way.
